The saddest words: “It might have been.”
What might have been? I wish the two speakers at a rally I attended in late October had prevailed. Now we are faced again with the horror of needing a hero, and the unlikeliness of a hero emerging. We are faced with the prospect that our country will be on the wrong side of both morality and of history. I’m not optimistic, but I wish you a Happy New Year.
